Fr. Barrett will be attending World Youth Day - Atlantic! In Moncton, NB with the World Youth Day
Group, please welcome Fr. Bernard MacAdam to our parish this weekend.

The World Youth Day Group is graciously accepting any donations of new merchandise to be used at an
upcoming Merchandise Bingo (late September). You can donate by calling Andrée or
dropping items off at the new Credit Union building. Thank you!

Acadian Festival 2006: If you incurred any expenses (bills,invoices), please turn them in to Rene Samson as
soon as possible so that they can be paid.

Religious Education: The Sunday morning children's program during the 10:30 a.m. Mass will continue
throughout the summer months

The Richmond Villa will be moving to their New Home on Sunday, August 20th, 2006. Therefore, the Villa
will be closed to visitors. Regular visitation will resume on Monday, August 21st. Our thanks for your support
and cooperation during this busy and exciting time. Residents and Staff

Special Mass: On Wednesday, August 30th, at 3:00 p.m. there will be a special mass for peace in the world at
St Joseph's parish in Bras d'Or. Bishop Raymond Lahey will preside and preach. This mass will close the
diocesan liturgical music institute, but we wish to invite all to attend to pray for peace at this very violent time
in our history

Catholic Near East Welfare Association Launches Lebanese Relief Fund: The Catholic Near East
Association has launched an emergency appeal inviting Canadians to aid Lebanese families displaced by the
shelling of southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs. More than 500,000 people have thus far fled to
displacement centers. There is an urgent need for drinking water, powdered milk, blankets, canned food, soap,
detergents, sponge mattresses, gas and oil. Catholic Near East Welfare Association has made an initial release
of $28,000 with more to follow. Contributions can be sent by mail to Catholic Near East Welfare Association
Canada with the mention "Lebanese Relief Fund" at 1247 Kilborn Place, Ottawa,Ontario, K1H 6K9
