Sacrament of Reconciliation for the Advent Season: Prepare your heart and soul for the birth of the Messiah
and eternal life by receiving the sacrament of reconciliation. Fr. Duncan Maclssac will be in the Reconciliation
Room at Holy Guardian Angels Church on Saturday, December 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Jesse Tree: Each Advent the Social Action Committee has the Jesse Tree in the sanctuary. Each week some of
the symbols of the tree are highlighted. We are requesting monetary donations. There will be envelopes
available for you to place your donation in. Please put your church number on the envelope, so that you can get
credit for your donation. The money will be used throughout the year for needy families.

Symbols of the Jesse Tree: This week we look at the symbol of Ark & Rainbow - Noah; Coat of many colors
- Joseph; Jug - Jeremiah; Proclamation - Isaiah; Fiery Sun - Jesus; Apple - Adam & Eve; Ladder - Jacob;
Altar - Isaac; Crown - David; Harp - Daniel; Tent - Abraham. A reminder that donations for the Social Action
Committee can be pinned on the Jesse Tree.

Decorating the Church for Christmas will take place on Sunday, December 18th from 2 to 4 p.m.. Social at
the glebe to follow.

Christmas Flowers: Donations for Christmas flowers in memory of loved ones are now being accepted.

Christmas Schedule: Saturday, December 24th at 6:00 p.m. - Family Mass
Sunday, December 25th Midnight Mass or Christmas Morning Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Christmas Angel Tree: This Christmas, we will have our Angel Tree (s) once again. Angels donated last year
will be hung on the trees. If anyone would like to donate a new angel in memory of someone, please put it in a
box at the church entrance. Attach the name of the deceased and who it is from to the angel. Angels are to be
no more than three to four inches in height.

Advent Wreath: On the Third Sunday of Advent, two families, and on the Fourth Sunday of Advent, a
member of Parish Pastoral Council will light the Advent candles.

L'Ardoise Cap Site: Sponsored by L.E.A.D. - You can now view the Church Bulletin on line on our
website at www.stpeterscable.com/~lardoisecap The CAP site is located in the Community Center. Hours: 4-
7p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday.

Looking for Old Photos of the L'Ardoise Acadian Festival. The CAP site is working to put together a digital
album on the history of the L'Ardoise Festival with photos, newspaper clippings, stories and any other material
regarding past Festivals. If you can help, please email scanned photos to lardoisecap@stpeterscable.com OR

Help Fight Breast Cancer! On January 7, 2006, the Joe Pop's Pink Positive Team will be having a bottle
drive. Save your returnables for a great cause. Also there is an account at DeWolfe Bottle Exchange for
anyone wishing to donate their returns. Our team would like to thank you in advance for your support.

Christmas Concert: Please join us on December 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lakeside Community Center for our
annual Christmas Concert. We promise you an evening filled with traditional Christmas music, laughter and

Christmas Concert:The 2nd Annual Children's Christmas Concert at the L'Ardoise Community Center will be
held on Sunday, December 11 at 2:00 p.m. Admission: Adults - $4.00; Children $2.00 Light lunch will be
served. Door prizes to be won. Sponsored by the L'Ardoise Volunteer Fire Department.

Tree of Hope: This year's "Tree of Hope" will be at MaCal's V & S Department Store located at 9979
Grenville Street, directly behind the St Peter's Post Office. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact

Adult Choir Practice on Monday, December 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the church to prepare for Christmas season.

The L'Ardoise Legion will be holding the Annual Children's Christmas Party for all children of the parish
on December 18th, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All children up to the ages of nine years are invited to
attend and have a visit with "Santa."

Eastern Counties Regional Library will be visiting L'Ardoise (Community Center) on Tuesday, December
13th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. The library service is free to the public. Everyone is welcome. For more

Cape Breton's Family Place Resource Center: Upcoming Programs - Ready to Learn (opportunities for
children who are going to school in September to experience learning in a small group setting); Premier Pas
(this program is being offered in response to a growing desire for children in this area to be exposed to the
French language in a preschool environment); Baby Building Club (this program will put you on the right road
to a healthy pregnancy); How To Talk So Kids Will Listen ( a parenting program that offers parents and care
givers effective and innovative ways to communicate with children); You're A Better Parent Than You Think!

World Youth Day Update: Holy Guardian Angels Parish is sending two young people to World Youth Day in
Sydney, Australia in 2008. They are Kaitlynn Sampson and Stephen Sampson. It will cost $5,000 - $ 6,000 to
send each of them. An account has been opened at the L'Ardoise Credit Union. Anyone wishing to make a
donation to the "Holy Guardian Angels Parish World Youth Day" account is encouraged to do so. You can
make your donation at the Credit Union or drop it in the Church collection. Receipts will be issued at the Credit
Union or your donation will be added to your parish receipt. Thank you.
