11th @ 2:00 p.m. in the Church. Candidates are asked to think about who they would
like to be their sponsor. A sponsor is any Catholic who has received the sacrament of
confirmation and practices his/her faith. Fr. Barrett must have the name of your sponsor
by or on March 4th. There will be a meeting for candidates, parents and sponsors on
Sunday, March 4th @ 6:30 p.m. in the Church. Confirmation is scheduled for Thursday,
April 26th @ 7 p.m.Adam Cooke: Adam Cooke has moved to Port Hawkesbury and another parish. We
would like to thank him for his many years of music ministry. To this effect, there will be
a "farewell" event on Sunday, February 11th, after the 10:30 a.m. Mass, in the Community
Center. Come one, come all to wish Adam all the best in the future. Voluntary card box
at the door.Finance Committee Meeting: Monday, February 12th @ 7:30 p.m. in the glebe.
Seniors' Jolly Club: A meeting and social will be held on Wednesday, February 14th
at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center.Community Center Bookings: From February 11th to March 11th, Jerome Martell will
take all bookings. Please call 587-2250.Ultreya: A reminder to all cursillistas and challengers that our next Ultreya will be held
on Tuesday, February 20th at 7:30 p.m. At the St. Louis Parish Hall in Louisdale.World Youth Group Trip to Australia Upcoming Schedule of Events: Pick a bottle-fill
a bottle. Juice bottles will be placed at the entrance of the Church. When filled with
loose change they can be returned to the Church. The bottles will be collected at Easter
time. Merchandise Bingo. A Merchandise Bingo and Yard Sale will take place on April
29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Center. If anyone would like to donate a prize for the
bingo they can get in touch with one of the youth group members or with Fr. Barrett.
Collection of Canadian Tire Money. A box is at the entrance of the church if anyone
would like to donate their Canadian tire money. To Donate Bottles. Our account is still
set up at the Bottle Depot if anyone would like to donate their empty bottles. Credit
Union Account. An account is still in place if anyone would like to make a monetary
donation to the group. Home & Gift Party. Another home and gift party is scheduled
for March 4th, at 2 p.m., at the Community Center. Easter Basket Tickets. Tickets on an
Easter basket are being sold by the youth group. The draw date will be March 31st at the
card game. Bag Groceries. Arrangements are being arranged for the Youth Group to
bag groceries at Sobeys and Super Value in the next couple of months. Brown Bag Tea
Sale. A brown bag grab and tea sale is scheduled for March 25th at 2:00 p.m. at the
community center. Brown bags will be available at various prices and a light lunch of
sweets and sandwiches will be available.Fusible Web Machine Applique workshop, St. Peter's Junior High School, Saturday,
February 24, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Instructor: Alie Camerson, Pepper's Closet. Supplies

BeauPort on Monday, February 12th, 2007. Come one, come all!Variety Concert: A Variety Concert will be held at the Lakeside Community Centre, Sampsonville on Sunday, February 18th (storm date Feb. 25th) at 7:30 p.m. Chase the
winter blues with an evening of song and dance. Lunch will be served. Admission:
$4.00.L'Ardoise Fire Department: An invitation is extended to rate payers of L'Ardoise and
area to attend a ceremony honouring six members of the L'Ardoise Volunteer Fire Dept.
on Sun., Feb. 18th @ 2 p.m. Mr. Rodger Cuzner, M.P. For Cape Breton-Canso will award medals to individuals whose continuous volunteer service is worth of special recognition.
Provincial and municipal representatives will also be in attendance. Your participation in
showing community support for a valued service to our residents is appreciated.

E. Martell.L'Ardoise C@P Site News: The C@P Site has undertaken a heritage and geneology
project that will speak to the history, culture, families and development of our community
and parish. We are developing a web site for the L'Ardoise Acadien Festival, also. The
Heritage and Geneology project will be developed on a DVD with pictures, stories, songs, anecdotes, folklore, etc. We would appreciate pictures, stories, newspaper clippings,
write-ups, and other information that might shed light on events that have taken place in
our community over the years. Do not limit yourself in what you can make available to
us. In other words, everything will be returned to you. Please send information and
pictures to Cecile at the C@P Site.
