Healing Mass: A healing Mass will be held in Holy Guardian Angels
Parish on Monday, Feb 13th at 7:00 p.m.
While every Mass gives us an opportunity to heal, the purpose of the healing
Mass is to give us an opportunity
to become more aware of our spiritual needs. Spiritual needs include the need
for emotional strength and
healing; the need to know that we are loved and cherished by God; the need to
courageously face a challenge or
obstacle in life, and the need to resolve conflicts. Healing involves breathing
life and hope into a person's spirit,
and this has an impact on our physical well-being. The sacrament of reconciliation
will be made available from
6:00 to 6:45 p.m.
Adult Choir Practice: Monday, February 20th at 6:00 p.m. to prepare for funerals and Lent.

Message from Fr. Russell Sampson, S.F.M.: Dear Fr. Barrett &
parishioners: Warm greetings to you from
Guyana, South America - "The land of many waters." I thoroughly enjoyed
the parish web site that I connected
with this evening. My name is Russell Sampson, S.F.M., stationed in Guyana since
1992, born and baptized in
Guardian Angels Parish, and a place that holds a special spot in my heart. Early
last year I was assigned to St
Joseph the Worker parish in Linden, Demerara, Guyana. So far I have made contact
with four other mission
stations in the region and there are other missions stations I have not been
able to visit as yet. Please pray for us
as I remember L'Ardoise in my prayers, daily. Sincerely in the Risen Christ,
Russell Sampson, SFM
Thank You: The family of the late Alonzo G. Sampson wish to express
humble gratitude to our many friends
for acts of kindness shown to us during his stay at the Richmond Villa and at
the time of his passing. Your
support by your presence, phone calls, mass and memorial offerings, food brought
to our home was much
appreciated. We are especially grateful to those who assisted in Alonzo's funeral
liturgy and special ladies who
provided lunch following the funeral. Sincerely Dorothy Sampson, sons and daughters,
brothers, and sister
Variety Concert at the Lakeside Community Center, Sampson on

The World Youth Group has been busy making fundraising arrangements
for the trip to Australia in July
2008. We set the goal of raising $12,000.00 to cover the cost of arrangements
for Stephen and Caitlin. We
have kicking off our fundraising campaign with the Take a Can - Fill a Can
initiative. Please return the can or
bottle on the weekend of February 25-26 filled with coins. Do not forget to
write your name and envelope # on
the bottle for income tax receipt purposes. Also, we have placed a box at the
main entrance of the Church for
Canadian Tire Money. We will be collecting this money until late spring, early
summer. The money will be
used to purchase some of the prizes for our Merchandise Bingo (Details
at a later date). Besides the
fundraising efforts, there is also an account set up at the East Coast Credit
Union (L'Ardoise). Cash donations
can be made directly at the Credit Union and a receipt will be issued. Thankyou.

Sunday Morning Children's Program: You may have seen some children
going into the vestry at the
beginning of Mass and you may have wondered what was happening. We have begun
a Children's Program
that takes place during the Liturgy of the Word. Because the readings are often
difficult, we are trying to put
them into simple words or simple stories so that the children will understand
more easily. The lessons are
already prepared and they usually include an activity. The children are only
away from the congregation until
the collection, so they do not miss the Liturgy of the Eucharist. This program
is open to any child, whether they
follow the Religious Education Program or not. If there are any youth or adults
who would like to lead one of
these sessions once in a while, please tell Fr. Barrett. Volunteers may only
have to serve once in three months.
Thank you to all the people who have already participated.
Young Adults (ages 18-23): Are there any young adults interested
in forming a group that would meet on a
somewhat regular basis? Your input will be important. If so, please call the
glebe at 587-2416.
