The World Youth Group has been busy making fundraising arrangements
for the trip to Australia in July
2008. We set the goal of raising $12,000.00 to cover the cost of arrangements
for Stephen and Caitlin. An
initial meeting with representatives from the Diocesan World Youth Day Office
was advertised, in the bulletin,
for a number of weeks. This meeting was mentioned at religious education registration,
also. It was a meeting
open to all young people, between the ages of 15 and 32, of the parish who were
interested. Two came. If any
more young people would like to go, the deadline for letting Carolyn Cook know
is Easter (April 16th).
She can be reached @. We have kicked off our fundraising campaign with the
Take a Can - Fill a
Can initiative. Please return the can or bottle on the weekend of February
25-26 filled with coins. Do not
forget to write your name and envelope # on the bottle for income tax receipt
purposes. Also, we have placed a
box at the main entrance of the Church for Canadian Tire Money. We will be collecting
this money until late
spring, early summer. The money will be used to purchase some of the prizes
for our Merchandise Bingo
(Details at a later date). Besides the fundraising efforts, there is also an
account set up at the East Coast Credit
Union (L'Ardoise). Cash donations can be made directly at the Credit Union and
a receipt will be issued.
Thankyou.
HAVE A GOOD WEEK!!!
