Variety Concert at the Lakeside Community Center in Sampsonville on Sunday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $4.00 - Lunch served. Storm date: January 29th.

Cape Breton Family Place Resource Center: An Upcoming Pre-Registered Program entitled "You Make The
Difference" will be held in L'Ardoise this January. "You Make The Difference" is a ten week program for
parents to learn how to interact with their children in ways that promote the parent-child relationship and foster
social language and development. For more information on this or other programs offered by Family Place,

Receipts for 2005 are now ready and can be pick up in the church.

World Youth Day 2008 Update: Holy Guardian Angels Parish is sending two young people to World Youth
Day in 2008 in Australia. They are Stephen Sampson and Kaitlynn Sampson. It will cost approximately
$5,000-$6,000 to send each of them. Parishioners who wish to make a donation can place it in the collection, or
make their donation at the L'Ardoise Credit Union. To date, $120.00 has been donated. Thank you.
The World Youth Day Group is seeking donations of juice from corporate sponsors. These beverages will
be given out the weekend of January 28th and 29th. We ask that people fill the cans and bottles up with change
and return them on the weekend of February 25th and 26th.

Benefit-Auction: On January 1 a house fire destroyed all of the belongings of Alan Ganaway, April Stone and
their son. A Benefit-Auction will be held at the MacBouch Beverage Room in St Peters on Saturday, January
28th from 2-6 p.m. Your support would be greatly appreciated. If you have anything you would like to donate,

Pilgrimage to Medjugorie with one night in Vienna upon return - April 28th to May 10th, 2006 (13 days)

Thank You: The family of the late John Lawrence Martell wish to express their sincere thanks to the nursing
unit of the Strait Richmond Hospital who lovingly took special care of him since September 2005, to Dr. Tan,
the staff of the Richmond Villa for their care in his last days, Fr. Barrett Clare-Johnson for the beautiful mass for
this kind and gentle man, the hundred of beautiful Mass Cards, the pall bearers, the Royal Canadian Legion
Branch 110 for their tribute to him, to all who attended the funeral and offered support in our time of loss, to all
who took food to the Funeral Home and the family, to all who traveled many miles to attend the service, some
from as far as Toronto, the Ladies Auxiliary for the wonderful food at the hall reception. You have all shown in
essence what a compassionate Parish (community) L'Ardoise truly is. God Bless you all. Gladys, Isabelle,
Joanne, Walter and Mike.

The Dr. Kingston Memorial Clinic Administration Board is currently accepting applications for a part time
office assistant to the Health Project Coordinator. Candidate must have basic Corel W. Microsoft word
knowledge, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and with the public. Please

Community Economic Development Investment Fund Information Session: The St Peters & Area Planning
Committee and the Strait-Highlands Regional Development Agency will be hosting an Information Session on
Community Economic Development Investment Funds (CEDIF's) that will be held on Wednesday, January 25
at the St Peters Fire Hall from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Through CEDIF's you and your neighbours can pool your
money and invest in Business(es) in your community, creating jobs and supporting further economic growth.
Chris Payne of NS Economic Development will be present to deliver a presentation and answer any questions
