Book of Intentions: At the entrance of the church, one will find a book of intentions. People can write the
names of their ill and recently deceased relatives and friends to be included in the "Prayer of the Faithful"
during Sunday liturgy. If your ill relatives and friends are in a hospital other than Strait Richmond for more than
one week, please ensure that their names are written in the book of intentions each weekend.

Adult Choir: Choir practice on Monday, July 25th at 6:00 p.m. to prepare for the Acadian Festival.

Finance Committee: Meeting on Tuesday, July 12th at 7:30 p.m. in the glebe.

Acadian Festival- Meals & Kitchen: The Festival is fast approaching. As usual we must depend on many
people to help out. The following areas are important:
Turkeys -- Cooking and carving. Anyone who can cook a turkey or help in the carving, please let us know.

Kitchen & Dinig-Room: As you are aware, this is a very important part of our success with meals. If you can
help in any way, with serving on tables, serving the food, preparing the food, any help you can offer will be

Food donations: Anyone wanting to make donations of food, we are in need of rolls, pies, sweets, frozen
vegetables.

The Student Employment Office is coming to a C@P Site near you. Tentative dates in the area are: July 12th_
L' Ardoise; July 13th- Chapel Island. Resume writing, cover letter writing, interview tips, job listings and

Bishop Raymond Lahey and a Guest Panel consisting of a single person, a married couple, a religious woman
and a priest will reflect on vocations in the church today "Within! - The Call of God!" on Monday, October
17th at 7:00 p.m. at St Theresa Parish Hall, Sydney and on Tuesday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ninian
Place, Antigonish. All welcome!!

The L' Ardoise Jolly Club are in the process of putting together a "Cookbook". Recipes in all categories will
be needed. If you are interested in submitting some of your favorite recipes, please contact Huguette Martell,

Lorraine Pottie. We greatly appreciate your contribution to our project.

Suncatchers: Pictures of L' Ardoise and area done in custom beveled glass are available for purchase.
Available in 4" or 6" sizes. Prices vary from $9.00 for the 4""and $12.00 for the 6" size. These beautiful
souvenirs can be purchased at Le Magasin Fleur de Lis -Rockdale, L' Ardoise General Store or East Coast
Credit Union, L' Ardoise Branch.

Thank You: The family of the late Ralph Martell expresses sincere thanks for your visitation while Ralph was

The "Make Poverty History" Campaign is well underway in Canada. Similar campaigns are being undertaken
in over 50 countries. 2005 is being viewed as the year to make positive change happen around the world. If you
haven't already, please visit the website www.makepovertyhistory.ca to see what it's all about. If you wish,
you can show your support by signing up, wearing a white band, passing the link on, etc. Development and
Peace has signed on nationally. Individual Development and Peace Diocesan Councils are urged to sign on as
well. We are focusing attention on the part of the campaign which is asking for unconditional cancellation of
international debt... more information later. The United Nations has proclaimed the period from 2005 to 2015,
the International Decade for Action, "Water for Life". This commenced on World Water Day, March 22, 2005

Mass in honor of At. Anne at Our Lady of Grace Shrine in Monastery: on Sunday, July 24, 2005. Mass
will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel and will be led by Fr. Albert MacPherson, OSA. Following the Mass, there
will be a procession, with the recitation of the Rosary, to St Anne's Chapel located on the Monastery grounds.

The Richmond County Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Children's Day Camp for children ages
5-10 years, at the L' Ardoise Community Center from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. during the week of August 8-12.
Registration will be a 9:30 a.m.on Monday, August 8. Fee $10.00 per child (weekly). Activities include: Arts
& Crafts, indoor and outdoor activities. Have your child bring a lunch daily and bring sunscreen and a hat. MSI
# required a time of registration.

100th Anniversary of Samsonville: A celebration will take place at the Centennial Site on the Lakeside
Community Association grounds on Wed. July 13th at 6 p.m. Guests will include Justice Arthur Stone and our
local government representatives with guest speaker, Hon. Jamie Muir, Minister of Education. There will be a
plaque unveiling, musical entertainment, displays and lunch. Premier John Hamm is expected to visit the site
on July 14 at 3p.m. Everyone is welcome to both occasions.
