Frank Sutherland, Carolyn MacNeil, Elaine Sampson, Kathleen Bona and Sherry Sampson. Parish Pastoral Council will meet on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008.Acadian Festival Update: The 2008 L'Ardoise Acadian Festival committee is pleased to inform you to the following
additions to our program:The Sons of Maxwell will be performing at our Festival Dance, Saturday, July 26. Advance tickets will be sold. Only 350 tickets will be sold; tickets are starting to sell quickly. If you have any family or friends planning on visiting during the festival weekend, inform them of the advanced ticket sales. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at L'Ardoise General Store, Le Magasin Fleur de Lis or by contacting Scott Mombourquette, Carol Sampson or Kathleen Bona.
The RCMP Pipe and Drum Band will be part of our Festival Parade on Sunday, July 27 at 2 pm.
Adult 50's, 60's Social on Wednesday, July 23rd. Join us for an adult social and dance to 50's and 60's music. Wine and cheese will be served, as well bar services. Try your luck with "spot dances", door prizes and best 50's and 60's
costumes.Next festival meeting will be Sunday, July 13that 2 pm in the basement of the Community Center. Anyone

Summer Grant Posting: The L'Ardoise Men's Club received an eight-week Canada Summer Job position starting June 30th, 2008. This position will involve presenting and recording a door-to-door questionnaire with regards to our
Community Activity Park Project. In addition, some administrative and fund raising duties will be assigned. This job
requires good communication and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as be able to work under a minimum amount of supervision. The applicant must have a vehicle, valid drivers license along with proof of insurance. This position offers minimum wage with a vehicle allowance to be negotiated. Deadline for resume is June 25, 2008. June is Recreation Month!! Come out and join us on Sunday, June 22 as we celebrate Safe Kids Week and June is Recreation Month. This event will take place from 11 am - 1 pm at the Village Grocery parking lot in St Peters. There will be a bike rodeo, helmet fitting, BBQ, refreshments and prizes. Children should be
accompanied by a parent or guardian. There will also be a short community bike ride for children ages 10 and older on the St Peters Trail (railway trail), parents are welcome to ride. Eulogy: A eulogy is a speech in praise of a person who has died. The intent of the Diocesan directive is to provide a
universal and consistent policy throughout the diocese in regard to this practice. Policy: a. There should be no eulogy at a funeral Mass. The homily at this Mass should be based on the text of the particular readings chosen for the Mass; b. It is both an appropriate and compassionate thing to express condolences to the family of the deceased on behalf of the priests and parishioners, and c. a eulogy is permitted as part of the Bible Vigil at the Funeral Home the evening
preceding the burial.August 17-18 - Sununer Institute for Liturgical Music - Villa Madonna Retreat House, Brad d'Or.
