Card Games - 45's card play -- Every Saturday at 8:00pm at the Community Center. Prizes are $100.,
$60., and $40. Cookie Jar and the Jackpot is now $1,060.00. Final card game for the season will be Saturday,
July 2nd.

L'Ardoise Acadian Festival With the big event ever closer, we need to continue planning. Our next meeting
is Sunday, June 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the Center.

Book of Intentions: At the entrance of the church, one will find a book of intentions. People can write the
names of their recently ill and deceased relatives and friends to be included in the "Prayer of the Faithful"
during Sunday liturgy. If your ill relatives and friends are in a hospital other than Strait Richmond for more
than one week, please ensure that their names are written in the book of intentions each week-end.

L' Ardoise CAP site: Come in and learn step by step how to access the Eastern Counties Regional Library
(Bookmobile) Web Catalogue - via the internet. With your library card, you can search, request items, renew a
book or check the status of your account. It's easy and we'll show you how. Come in anytime during CAP
hours. The CAP site is located in the basement of the Community Center- Hours 3:30 -7:30 p.m. Mon. - Fri.

Bishop Raymond Lahey and a Guest Panel consisting of a single person, a married couple, a religious woman
and a priest will reflect on vocations in the church today "Within! - The Call of God!" on Monday, October
17th at 7:00 p.m. at St Theresa Parish Hall, Sydney and on Tuesday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ninian
Place, Antigonish. All welcome!!

The L' Ardoise Jolly Club are in the process of putting together a "Cookbook". Recipes in all categories will
be needed. If you are interested in submitting some of your favorite recipes, please contact Huguette Martell,

A Salmon Supper will be held at the Grand River Fire Hall on Saturday, July 9th beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Fund-raising Committee of the L' Ardoise Legion. Br. 110 would like to thank everyone involved in raising
money for the IWK Hospital for Children. To the workers at the bingo, individual donaters, the fishermen for
their donation of lobsters, Ken Bailley for the storage bench made for the ticket draw and to the bingo players
who attended the bingo. The winner of the storage bench was Margaret Landry of Rockdale.

Thank You: The family members of the late George L. Sampson appreciate the outpouring of care and concern
during our recent bereavement. We wish to express sincere thanks for your visitation during the wake,
attendance at mass, for the many mass cards and donations made to associations in memory of Lee. All these

Eastern Counties Regional Library will be in L' Ardoise (Community Center) on Tuesday, June 28 from 4 -
5:30p.m. and 6 -7 p.m. also in St Peters at East Richmond Education Center on Tuesday, June 14 from 3:30-
5:30 p.m. and 6 -7:30 p.m. This service is free to the public. Everyone is welcome.

Fr. Alexander (Sandy) MacNeil's 40thAnniversary to the Priesthood - Celebration will take place on Sunday,
June 26. Mass at 6p.m. at Holy Rosary Church in Westmount followed by a social at our Parish Hall.

This year marks the 250thanniversary of the Commemoration du Grand Derangement (Great Acadian
Upheaveal), an event of great importance for the Acadians. Please pick up a flyer at the church entrances.

The "Make Poverty History" Campaign is well underway in Canada. Similar campaigns are being undertaken
in over 50 countries. 2005 is being viewed as the year to make positive change happen around the world. If you
haven't already, please visit the website www.makepovertyhistory.ca to see what it's all about. If you wish,
you can show your support by signing up, wearing a white band, passing the link on, etc. Development and
Peace has signed on nationally. Individual Development and Peace Diocesan Councils are urged to sign on as
well. We are focusing attention on the part of the campaign which is asking for unconditional cancellation of
international debt... more information later. The United Nations has proclaimed the period from 2005 to 2015,
the International Decade for Action, "Water for Life". This commenced on World Water Day, March 22, 2005
