Pastoral Planning: Bishop Lahey invited the nine Deaneries of the Diocese
to hold meetings and reflect upon
where we were in terms of the Pastoral Planning Process, to review the past
pastoral planning activities and
provide updates in terms of the situations in the parishes. The Richmond Deanery
agreed to meet with parish
representatives on Thursday, April 22nd, 2004 at River Bourgeois. Forty-one
people were in attendance at the
meeting. They offered nineteen recommendations and suggestions to the Bishop
and his committee. On
September 30th, 2004 the same group met again to review its recommendations.
There was a suggestion put
forward that we establish a committee comprised of the following: the chairpersons
of the parish councils in
Richmond, the pastor of each parish, a representative from the religious community,
and other persons who may
be interested in serving on this committee. This suggestion was accepted and
the large committee was then
dissolved. For the nineteen recommendations and suggestions go to www.antigonishdiocese.com/title.htm
and
click on "Diocesan Pastoral Planning Reports" then "A summary
of this feedback is provided here" then
"Richmond."
