Holy Guardian Angels & Immaculate Conception Parishes' Pastoral Council: We need to elect two new members from Immaculate Conception, and four new members from Holy Guardian Angels. The nominees for Parish Pastoral Council are: Maria Collet (HGA), high school student; Carol Cook (IC). personal care worker; Paula Fraiser (IC); Amanda Johnson (IC); Joe Johnston (I.C.), retired from Northern Telecom; Jennifer Mombourquette (HGA), occupational therapist; Alice Mombourquette (HGA), retired denturist; Jessica Sampson (HGA), high school student; Carol Sampson (HGA), retired teacher; Lily Spray (HGA), nurse; Sarah Touesnard (HGA), high school student, and Louise Wincey (HGA). The election will take place at the weekend Masses of June 14/15, and the winners will be announced the weekend of June 21/22. Parish Pastoral Council will meet on September 23rd, 2008. Fr. Barrett would like to thank all who agreed to let their names stand.

Richmond Deanery Eucharistic Day: Friday, June 13th, 2008. To mark the 49th International Eucharistic Congress being held in Quebec City from June 15th to June 22nd, the parishes of the Richmond Deanery will be holding a Eucharistic Day on Friday, June 13th at St. Louis Church, Louisdale. The Eucharistic Day will unfold as follows: 10:00 a.m. - Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues during the day until 5:00 p.m., 10:30 pm - Sacrament of Reconciliation, 11:00 am - Prayer Service led by Petit-de-Grat CWL (French), 1:00 pm - Prayer Service led by St. Louis CWL (English), 2:00 pm - Prayer Service led by St. John the Baptist CWL (English), 3:00 pm - Chaplet of Divine Mercy, 4:00 pm - Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament & Sacrament of Reconciliation, 5:30 pm - Inter-Parish Choir Practice (choir members from all parishes are invited to participate), 6:30 pm - Eucharistic Day Closing Mass. This will be the only Mass celebrated in the Richmond Deanery on June 13th. The theme of the Eucharistic Congress is The Eucharist - God's Gift for the Life of the World. All Catholics are invited to attend this Eucharistic Day to celebrate this gift of God together. All are invited to attend a Tea & Social at the St. Louis Parish Hall after Mass. Those who wish to bring sandwiches or sweets for the Tea/Social are asked to telephone Evelyn Landry.

Acadian Festival Update: The 2008 L'Ardoise Acadian Festival committee is pleased to inform you to the following
additions to our program. The Sons of Maxwell will be performing at our Festival Dance, Saturday, July 26. Advance tickets will be sold. $15 per person. For tickets contact Scott Mombourquette at 587-2262. The RCMP Pipe and Drum Band will be part of our Festival Parade on Sunday, July 27 at 2 pm. The program is in its final stages, the Festival is coming together. Anyone interested in helping contact a committee member. Next Festival meeting will be Sunday, June 8 at 2 pm in the basement of the community center.

Employment Opportunity -Student: L. E. A. D. has obtained an eight week grant from HRSDC to conduct a followup on the water study that was done in 2004. We are seeking a committed and dedicated individual to do the following: Communicate with District 9 residents about the condition of their water supply. Provide testing materials and/or conduct testing of the water supply where needed and requested. Provide updated and recent materials on water supply safety. Employment Opportunity: Holy Guardian Angels Parish has been approved for an 8 week grant, based on
35hurs/week at a student wage of $8.1O/hour. The successful applicant will work on activities related to L'Ardoise
Acadian Festival, and assist with minor chores around the parish. Interested students must be enrolled in a college or
university program or attending a post-secondary institution this fall. Submit a letter of application to Holy Guardian

Summer Grant Posting: The L'Ardoise Men's Club received an eight-week Canada Summer Job position starting June 30th,2008. This position will involve presenting and recording a door-to-door questionnaire with regards to our
Community Activity Park Project. In addition, some administrative and fund raising duties will be assigned. This job
requires good communication and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as be able to work under a minimum amount of supervision. The applicant must have a vehicle, valid drivers license along with proof of insurance. This position offers minimum wage with a vehicle allowance to be negotiated. Anna Mombourquette is now settled in her apartment. She wants to thank everyone who were so kind to her by
providing her with items for her apartment, and contributing to the fund at the Credit Union. Thank you very much

Cards, phone calls & visits sure gives you a pleasant feeling when your in the hospital. I want to thank all the folks

Congratulations to Maria Collet on her being presented with the Governor General's Metal for the Grade11 school year at Richmond Academy. This medal is given out for high academic achievement and school/community participation. Your hard work and effort has paid off. Love, Mom, Donnie, Alisha, Jordan and Justin

The Funding Raising Committee for the I.W.K. Telethon for Children would like to thank all the individuals involved in working the merchandise and lobster bingo at the L'Ardoise Legion Branch 110 on May 31. A very special thank you goes out to the fishermen in the area for the donation of lobsters and to Alice Roberge for the donation of the lighthouse that was put on tickets. The winner of the lighthouse was Eileen Burke of Samponville. Thanks to Ann, Joan and Nooxie for all their help in setting up and cleaning after the bingo. We raised $1,835 for the I.W.K. Children's Hospital.

Father's Day Variety Concert: Lakeside Community Centre, Sampsonville, Sunday, June 15th, 7:30 p.m. Treat dad to an evening of great music! Admission is only $5.00 and includes lunch...Father's Day Roast Beef Dinner will be held at the L'Ardoise Fire Hall on June 15 from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. Adults - $10.00; Children under 12 -- $6.00.

The L'Ardoise C@P Site would like to inform the community of L'Ardoise and surrounding ares that the new summer hours at the C@p site are in effect starting Monday, June 2. The C@p site hours are as follows: Monday - 8:30 am - 12:00 noon; Tuesday - 12:00 noon -7:00 pm; Wednesday - 8:30 am - 4:40 pm; Thursday - 12 noon -7:00 pm; Friday - 8:30am- 4:30pm; Saturday 8:30am- 12 noon./ We would like to you for your generous support over the years and hope to see everyone during the summer months.

Community Clean-Up: Saturday, June 14, Grand Greve to Point Michaud, for everyone concerned about the litter along our highway and drains, starts 8:00 a.m. (gather at the L'Ardoise Community Center), finish 12 Noon with free barbecue and refreshments for participants. Gloves, garbage bags and some vests will be supplied. Dress appropriately. Bring the whole gang and make it a family event!

Pokerwalk: Sunday, June 29 at 2 p.m. Starting at the L'Ardoise Fire Hall. This is a 3.3 km walk. All proceeds go to
Strait Richmond Palliative Care Unit. Enjoy a scenic and healthy walk while helping out a great cause. Hope to see you there. Sponsored by L'Ardoise Friends of Palliative Care.

Cursillo and Challenge News: The last Richmond County Ultreya for the year will be held Tuesday, June 17 at the St. Louis Parish Hall in Louisdale at 7:30 p.m.

Active Kids, Safe Kids, June is Recreation Month!! Come out and join us on Sunday, June 22 as we celebrate Safe Kids Week and June is Recreation Month. This event will take place from II am - I pm at the Village Grocery parking lot in St Peters. There will be a bike rodeo, helmet fitting, BBQ, refreshments and prizes. Children should be
accompanied by a parent or guardian. There will also be a short community bike ride for children ages 10 and older on the St Peters Trail (railway trail), parents are welcome to ride. This event is sponsored by the Dr. Kingston Memorial Health Project and Richmond County Recreation.

Thank You: The family of the late Esther Jane Briand would like to thank all the people who made phone calls from
near and far, the people who provided food at the house and the community center. Thank you for all the sympathy
cards and mass cards. Thanks goes out to the choir and special thanks to Carol Martell for he special hymns. Special
