benefits - who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases" (Psalm 103:2-3).
Now that we are more than a third of the way through Lent, we should take a moment to
rejoice! This Psalm shows us how wonderful God is and tells us to rejoice that such a
magnificent God has created us and loves us. Even in the midst of Lent, this is something
to celebrate! Look at everything God does for us! Look at all his "benefits"! He
cleanses us of our many, many sins and forgives us. He cleanses the diseases of our
bodies and minds by healing us. Even as we perform our Lenten spring-cleaning to make
room for Jesus, the Lord is spring-cleaning us! We Pray - Loving Lord, we bless and
thank you for all you do for us every moment. We rejoice that you love us so much! We
Act - Make today's family meal a time of rejoicing. Prepare or buy special food. Light
candles. Sing a blessing over the food. Have joyful music playing while you eat
together. Each family member may describe a way in which the Lord is blessing you this
Lent. The NET team (National Evangelization Teams) will be in our parish on Tuesday, April
17th to conduct a retreat for FAMILIES. NET Ministries is a traveling retreat ministry
team, based in Ottawa, Ontario. The team is comprised of 10-12 young adults of vibrant
faith who have given ten months of their lives to travel throughout Canada to share their
faith with Catholic families and youth. The retreats are a high-energy experience using
large group presentations, small group discussion, drama, music, games, skits, personal
testimonies, the Sacraments, and prayer to present the Gospel. Team members blend a
fun experience with a straightforward and personal presentation of the Gospel message,
and how Jesus Christ has affected their lives. Please pray that our families will more
fully experience the love of God as they attend this retreat. If you are interested in
housing a couple of the NET team members and/or would like to pre-register your family
($20.00 per family-payable at the door; registration deadline-April 1st), please contact
Carolyn Cook or e-mail carolyn.cook@seaside.ns.ca
The retreat will take place in the Community Center. It will begin at 4 p.m. (if you
cannot be there at 4, come when you get home). A Pot-Luck Supper will be held at 5:30
p.m., Mass at 8:30 p.m. (music by NET team), with the retreat ending at 9 p.m.
Confirmation candidates are encouraged to make a retreat before their confirmation, so
this will be a great opportunity for them, their families, and for all our parishioners to
grow in faith, hope and love. We need at least 50 people to keep this retreat, so come on
folks give Carolyn a call and pre-register by April 1st!Development & Peace: This year marks two very special anniversaries for Development
& Peace. Forty years ago, Pope Paul VI released the encyclical "Populorum Progressio"

created Development and Peace. The central values of "Populorum Progressio" -
solidarity, justice and charity - have been the driving force behind the work of
Development and Peace for forty years. Through your participation in Share Lent, you
bring these values to life and help the people of the Global South to break the chains of
poverty and exclusion.Finance Committee Meeting: A Finance Committee meeting will be held on Monday,
