Sacrament of Reconciliation: Before weekday Masses
L'Ardoise Legion Monthly Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 16th at 7:30 p.m. Executive at 7 p.m.
L'Ardoise Fire Dept Rate Payers Meeting: Tuesday, May 16th, 2006 at 7 p.m. at the Fire Hall.
Senior's Jolly Club Meeting on Wednesday, May 17th at 7:30 p.m. Membership
dues ($10.00) will be
collected at this meeting.
Anniversary Celebrations: All couples, who were married here or who
are now members of our parish,
celebrating 25 years, 40 years, and 50 years and over are invited to celebrate
together on Saturday, June 10th,
2006 at the Community Center. Reception - 4:30 p.m.; Supper - 5:00 p.m. and
Mass following at 7:00 p.m.

World Youth Day Group will be having a Yard Sale/Bake Sale plus
a 50/50 Draw at the Community Center
on Saturday, May 20th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Anyone having items, which they
no longer want such as clothes,
toys, tools, knick-knacks, etc.. .please feel free to donate them, the group
will greatly appreciate it. Items which
have not been sold will then be donated to the Diabetic Association. Coffee
and tea will be available. For more

World Youth Day Group: There is an account set up at the St Peters Enviro-Depot
for the World Youth Day
Group. Anyone wishing to donate their recyclables to the group can drop them
off and the staff at the Depot
will credit the WYD account.
A Fish Chowder Supper will be held at the Grand River Fire Hall on May
27th beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the Grand River Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Health Project: There will be a Well Men's Clinic and Well Women's Clinic
held at the Dr. Kingston
Memorial Clinic in L'Ardoise on May 25th from 5-9 p.m. For more information

please call the Health Project at 587-2991. Couples can arrange appointment
times together.
Celebration of Hope: The annual ecumenical celebration of hope will
take place on May 18th at 7 p.m. Adult
choir will be singing.
Card Games: Saturday night 45's Card Game at the Community Center at
8p.m. Prizes: $100.; $60.;
$40.;The first loonie jar is $1,000.00; the second one is $1,000.00 and the
third is $396.00+
C@P Site Hours: New hours are Tuesday to Friday from 3:30 - 7:30 p.m.
and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 12

Scholarships: Each year, the parish provides scholarships (Holy Guardian
Angels Parish Scholarship, Fr.
Briand Scholarship, Fr. Clary Scholarship) to high school parishioners who are
planning to attend a post-
secondary institution (university, college, etc). If you are interested in receiving
an award at your graduation,
please write a letter to Holy Guardian Angels Parish, PO Box 145, L'Ardoise,
NS, BOE ISO. In your letter,
please state/include the following: your name, address, and telephone number;
what post-secondary institution
you plan to attend; if you were to decide on a career today, what would it be
and why?, and a copy of your last
set of marks. Letters are to be received no later that May 24th, and will be
placed in a confidential file.
Eastern Counties Regional Library will be visiting St Peters
East Richmond Education Center) Tuesday,
May 30 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. ant 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. and in L 'Ardoise (Community
Center) on Tuesday, May
16th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. This library is a free to the public.

Bursary Concert in memory of Estwood Davidson on Saturday, May 13th
from 7:30-10 p.m. at the Tara Lynn
Community Hall in River Bourgeois. All proceeds to a graduating student from
Richmond Academy. Adm:
$12.00 single and $20.00 couple
Second Annual Richmond County Senior's Expo will be held at the Tara
Lynn Community Center in River
Bourgeois on May 27 & 28, 2006. For tickets and information, please call

Cancer survivors are invited to register for the Relay for Life event
which will be held in Arichat on June 9th,
2006. This event is a celebration of courage in the fight against cancer. Survivors
will share a dinner and then
take part in one victory lap around the track. To register for the survivor

Congratulations! We are extending sincere congratulations to a university
graduate, Chantelle Taylor on 2
years Bachelor of Education at St F. X. specializing in Science, French and
Mathematics and also 4 years
Dalhousie University with Bachelor of Science, double major in Chemistry and
Mathematics and 21 credit
hours in French. She graduated with French Immersion certificate in Grade 12.
Presently she's been given a
teaching contract with the Strait Regional School Board. Congratulations Chantelle!!!
Municipality of the County of Richmond Heavy Garbage Collection: A Heavy
Garbage Collection
Program will be carried out in Richmond County on Monday, May
15, 2006. Material MUST be at the
curbside by 8:00 a.m. to ensure pickup.
Variety Concert: at Lakeside Community Center, Sampsonville on Sunday,
May 21st at 7:30 p.m. Adm:
$4.00.. .Lunch served. A fun filled evening of music, song and dance.
There will be a Challenge Follow-Up held on Wednesday, May 17th, 7:30
p.m. at St Louis Parish Hall in
Louisdale. The follow-up will be hosted by the Cape Breton Challenge Movement
from Sydney. We want to
encourage as many Challengers and Cursillista's as possible to attend. So tell
everyone about it and bring a
friend. We will have pizza & beverages for lunch. Everyone welcome!
Ultreya: Our regular monthly Ultreya will be held in Sydney River at
Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Richmond
County Cursillo Movement is hosting. The Ultreya will take place on May 25th
at 7:30 p.m. We would like to
see as many Challengers and Cursillista's as possible representing our area.
