Card Games - 45's card play -- Every Saturday at 8:00pm at the Community Center. Prizes are $100.,
$60., and $40. Cookie Jar is $232.00+ and the Jackpot is now $1,000.00.

Book of Intentions: At the entrance of the church, one will find a book of intentions. People can write the
names of their recently ill and deceased relatives and friends to be included in the "Prayer of the Faithful"
during Sunday liturgy. If your ill relatives and friends are in a hospital other than Strait Richmond for more
than one week, please ensure that their names are written in the book of intentions each week-end.

First Communion: On Sunday, May 15, the first communion candidates will be introduced to the community.
They are Jessie Graham, Chelsey Landry, Mark MacDonald, James MacLean, Devin Martell, Janelle Martell,
Kari Lynn Middleton, Joseph John Oram, Taylor Robinson, Raymond Joseph Webb, Keigan Cotie. Pray for
them as they continue to prepare to call God their Father in the midst of the church.

CARETAKER: We are now receiving applications for the job of "CARETAKER For Parish Properties"

SCHOLARSHIPS: The parish is offering several scholarships to students graduating from high school this
year. Written applications are required. Deadline for applications is May 31, 2005. Please submit a resume

Social Action Reminder: Our yearly anniversary celebration for couples married 25, 40, 50 years & over will
be taking place on June 11, 2005. If you are one of these couples, married in this parish, or married elsewhere
and now living in this parish, please contact Carolyn Martell - Annette Martell - or Elaine
Sampson - before May 15. Celebration consists of supper followed by 7:00pm mass & blessing.

Donations: Anyone wishing to make a donation for Claude Cotie can do so at any branch of East Coast Credit
Union. Your donations are sincerely appreciated.

Acadian Festival Update: Many aspects of the festival now have co-ordinators, however more volunteers are
still needed to assist in the various tasks. For the Major Ticket Draw, an electric fire place was donated by R.
M. Landry & Son. The tickets have been printed and are ready for sale. We are in need of someone or group to
co-ordinate this activity. Our next festival meeting will be May 15th at 2:00pm. L'Ardoise Community Center.
Please come and lend a hand!

scene include Holy Guardian Angels Parish Church, L'Ardoise Parish Properties, Blessing of the Fleet

Ordination to the Ministerial Priesthood Celebration for Deacon Andrew Francis Gillies: Please join the

Religious Education: There will be Religious Education classes at the regular time on May 15 (last class).
There will be no classes on May 22 (long weekend). At the 10:30 Mass on May 29, the parish community will
celebrate with the children who are receiving their First Holy Communion. After Mass, all the Religious
Education students and their families are invited to the Community Center to enjoy a little lunch together with
the First Communion children. This gathering will mark the end of this year's catechetical program. Thanks to
all for a good year!

A Wellness Information Evening, sponsored by the Living With Cancer support group, Canadian Cancer
Society, will take place at the Shannon Studio of the Port Hawkesbury Civic Center, on Wednesday, May 18 at
7 p.m. The topic is "Ovarian and Cervical Cancers" and the guest speakers are Dr. Paula Rittenberg and
Barbara Hodkin.


A Heavy Garbage Collection Program will be carried out in Richmond County on Monday, May 30,2005.
Material MUST be at the curbside by 8:00 a.m., Monday, May 30th to ensure pickup. Any material placed after
this time will NOT be collected. The Minicipality of the County of Richmond Public Works Department
thanks residents for their co-operation in keeping Richmond clean.

Sunday, May 29th - 7:30 p.m. The Jubilee Council presents a benefit concert at St Agnes Church in New
Waterford featuring Ronnie Martin and Changing Times, Witness, Men of Faith, Eric Angus Whyte, Leap of
Faith and others. All proceeds from this event will go to assist UNICEF Canada to assist their lifesaving
working in dealing with the humanitarian crisis in the Sudan. UNICEF describes the Darfur emergency as one
of the world's worst humanitarian crises. Admission $10.00 each. Further donations accepted with thanks.

.The A - Z of Landscaping seminar at Richmond Academy, Louisdale will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 7:00

The annual diocesan collection for Latin America will be held this year on Sunday, June 5th. Every penny
collected for this cause goes to help the poor of Latin America according to a promise we made when our priests
were withdrawn from the missions. Envelopes for this collection may be found in you packet or you may use an
ordinary envelope marked Latin America. Please give generously to our own diocese's missionary project.

Thank You: A sincere thank you to all who kept in touch during my recent hospitalization. Your concerns,

Atlantic World Youth Day: The diocese of Moncton has taken on the task of organizing a World Youth Day
gathering for the Atlantic Region. The event will have the same format as the gathering in Germany and take
place at the same time as the international gathering... August 20-21, 2005 The estimated cost of $40 -
$50.00 includes... WYD T-shirt and Meals. Saturday: lunch, workshops, Way of the Cross, supper, outdoor
vigil until midnight. Sunday: 5 a.m. Papal mass on giant screen, breakfast, liturgy and lunch before departure.

Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies: St F. X. University is offering the Canadian Certificate in Youth
Ministry Studies, a training program for those in ministry with young adults in parish, school/university and
community settings. It equips leaders with practical tools and techniques needed for creative and
comprehensive youth ministry. Participants come to campus for a five-day training session June 26-30, 2005.
Courses offered this summer are Principals in Youth Ministry and Practices of Youth Ministry. For more
