45's Card Game: New Time for Card Game at the L'Ardoise Community Center on Saturdays is 8p.m. Usual 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. Prizes along with toonie jar is 712.00+

Annual Meeting of the Parishes: Sunday, May 25th at 3 pm in the L'Ardoise Community Center (basement). Parish Pastoral Council will meet at 2 pm.

L'Ardoise and Grand River Cancer Unit 53 "Celebration of Hope" Ecumenical Service at Holy Guardian Angel Church, L'Ardoise on Thursday, May 15th at 7:00 pm. Light lunch to follow. Everyone welcome.

Immaculate Conception First Communion: The practice will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 2 pm in Immaculate Conception Church. First Communion will take place during the Pentecost Mass on Sunday, May 11th at 2pm on Chapel Island. Reception for the first Communion children to follow in the Chapel Island Community Center.

Knights of Columbus Meeting on Tuesday, May 6th in the basement of St Peter's Glebe at 7 pm for officers and 8 pm regular meeting.

Mi'kmawey School: The next first Communion class will be held on Tuesday, May 6th after school. Also, Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 10:45 a.m.

Immaculate Conception Grounds Cleaning will take place on Thursday, May 8 at 6:00 pm. Rain date: May 15th (so as not to conflict with the Mission). Volunteers are reminded to bring rakes and thanks for volunteering.

Back By Popular Demand: The L'Ardoise Seniors Jolly Club have received another shipment of their
Cookbook. Same book, same price $10.00. Please call Huguette.

Anniversary Celebrations: We are again planning for our yearly marriage anniversary celebrations. All couples celebrating 25, 40, or 50 years and over who were married in Holy Guardian Angels Parish or who are now living in our parish are invited. Date for celebration will be on Saturday, May 24th. Social from 4-5 pm and dinner at 5 pm. Please call before May 12, if you are planning to attend. Call Carolyn Martell, Leona Middleton

Acadian Festival Update: The dates of our 46th Acadian Festival will be July 24 - 27, 2008. The next meeting is at 2 pm , Sunday, May 4 in the basement of the Community Center. Hope to see you there!

Eastern Counties Regional Library will be visiting LArdoise at the Community Center on Tuesday, May 13 from 4 - 5:30 pm and 6 - 7 pm. Also in St Peters at East Richmond Education Center of Tuesday, May 27 from 3:30-5:30 pm and6-7pm.

The family of the late Joseph A. (D.D.) Sampson would like to thank the many friends and neighbours for their loving care and concern while DD was in the hospital and following his passing. We were touched by the overwhelming support of the good people of L'Ardoise and surrounding areas. Thanks especially to Father Barrett, Dr. Tan, Richmond County Home Support Services, staff of the Strait-Richmond Hospital, Palliative Care, the choir, the people who took part in the Funeral Mass, and those who prepared the lunch afterwards. Your kindness will always be remembered. Thank you and God bless you.

Antique Road Show sponsored by the St Peters Community Club will take place Saturday, May 3 at the Lions Hall. Registration of artifacts will begin at 8 am and appraisals will begin at 10 am. The cost will be $5.00 an item,
limit of 3 items. A chilli lunch and refreshments will be available.

Municipality of the County of Richmond Heavy Garbage Collection will be carried out between May 20 and
June 14, 2008. Materials must be at the curbside by 8:00 am on the first day of the week in which thfrcollection is
scheduled for your area. Please place similar items such as metals and loose wood in separate piles at the
curbside. Please note that no scavenging of materials at the curbside by third parties is permitted. Week 1-Point
Michaud and Lower L'Ardoise. Week 2 - L'Ardoise to St Peters. Week 3 - Johnstown, Loch Lomond to St
Peters.
Week 4 - Remaining portions of Richmond East of St Peters Canal.

Study Day: The Atlantic Liturgy Conference is hosting a "Study Day" at Stella Maris House of Hospitality in Pictou. Members of the Atlantic Liturgical Commission will be in attendance and encourage priests and laity of the diocese to join them on this day. The topic "Saying I Do - A Marriage Preparation Program" will assist all those in marriage preparation ministry in working with couples preparing for marriage. Registration is $20.00 per person, registration forms can be obtained by calling the Office of Worship at 902-539-6188 ext 237.

Acadian Festival: We are trying to put together a history of the Acadian Festival. It's been forty-six years, since the festival officially started. If you have any material on it (paper clippings, pictures, stories) or if you have any recollection of events that took place will you please contact Sally Anne or Pat Samson (on Wednesdays)

A Flea Market and Bake Sale will be held at the Lions Community Hall, St Peters on Sunday, May 4 from 1-4 pm. To rent tables, please call Marcia @ 535-2051, or Kitty @535-2422, or Anne @ 535-2456. Donations for the Flea Market or bake table are welcome and the event is sponsored by the St Peters Relay for Life Team in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
