Sacrament of Reconciliation: Before weekday Masses

Parent Meeting: Parents of the children making their First Communion this year are asked to attend a meeting
on Wednesday, May 3rd at 7:30 p.m. in the church.

Finance Committee Meeting: Tuesday, May 9th at 7:30 p.m. in the glebe

Parish Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 7th at 2 p.m. in the Community Center.

World Youth Day Group Meeting: A very important meeting of the World Youth Day Group will be held on
Sunday, May 7th at 7 p.m. in the glebe.

L'Ardoise Fire Dept Rate Payers Meeting:Tuesday, May 16th, 2006 at 7 p.m. at the Fire Hall.
Richmond Minor Hockey Association Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 7th at 7 p.m. in the
Richmond Arena, Louisdale. All are welcome to attend.

Food Handler's Course will be held on Monday, May 8 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Samsponville
Community Center. Call Doug Landry for more info.

Anniversary Celebrations: All couples, who were married here or who are now members of our parish,
celebrating 25 years, 40 years, and 50 years and over are invited to celebrate together on Saturday, June 10th,
2006 at the Community Center. Reception - 4:30 p.m.; Supper - 5:00 p.m. and Mass following at 7:00 p.m.

Health Project: There will be a Well Men's Clinic and Well Women's Clinic held at the Dr. Kingston
Memorial Clinic in L'Ardoise on May 25th from 5-9 p.m. For more information or to book an appointment,
please call the Health Project at 587-2991. Couples can arrange appointment times together.

Mother's Day Breakfast at the Grand River Fire Hall on Saturday, May 13th, 2006 - 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Admission: Adults - $6.00; Children 5 - 12 $ 3.00 and Under 5 Free. Sponsored by the Grand River Senior
Citizen's Club.

Communion Under Both Species: Communion under both species begins the weekend of May 13th/14th. Fr.
Barrett will be on the bread, and two eucharistic ministers will be on the cup. The proper order is bread to cup
(if one so chooses to receive from the cup). There is no intinction (dipping). The schedule will appear as
follows: Eucharist: John Doe (T)/Mary Jane. The "T" stands for Tabernacle. The eucharistic minister with
the "T" next to his or her name is the one who goes to the Tabernacle and brings the Ciborium to the Altar.

Scholarships: Each year, the parish provides scholarships (Holy Guardian Angels Parish Scholarship, Fr.
Briand Scholarship, Fr. Clary Scholarship) to high school parishioners who are planning to attend a post-
secondary institution (university, college, etc). If you are interested in receiving an award at your graduation,
please write a letter to Holy Guardian Angels Parish, PO Box 145, L'Ardoise, NS, BOE ISO. In your letter,
please state/include the following: your name, address, and telephone number; what post-secondary institution
you plan to attend; if you were to decide on a career today, what would it be and why?, and a copy of your last
set of marks. Letters are to be received no later that May 24th, and will be placed in a confidential file.

Employment Opportunity: The Richmond County Literacy Network is accepting applications for the position
of an Employability Project Co-ordinator. This is a thirty (30) week term position with St Peters expected to be
the office location. Deadline for applications is May 9th, 2006. For more information, contact the Richmond

World Day of Prayer for Vocations: Next Sunday, May 7th is the 43rd "World Day of Prayer for Vocations (to
Ordained Ministry and Consecrated Life).

Antigonish Diocesan Society: We hope that you are aware that the annual campaign for the Antigonish
Diocesan Society is scheduled for Vocation Sunday, the 4th Sunday of Easter which this year fall on May 7th.

Eastern Counties Regional Library will be visiting St Peters East Richmond Education Center) Tuesday,
May 30 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. ant 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. and in L 'Ardoise (Community Center) on Tuesday, May
16th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. This library is a free to the public. Everyone is welcome!

Bursary Concert in memory of Estwood Davidson on Saturday, May 13th from 7:30-10 p.m. at the Tara Lynn
Community Hall in River Bourgeois. All proceeds to a graduating student from Richmond Academy. Adm:
$12.00 single and $20.00 couple

Second Annual Richmond County Senior's Expo will be held at the Tara Lynn Community Center in River

Cancer survivors are invited to register for the Relay for Life event, which will be held in Arichat on June 9th,
2006. This event is a celebration of courage in the fight against cancer. Survivors will share a dinner and then
take part in one victory lap around the track. To register for the survivor dinner, please call 226-0969.

Municipality of the County of Richmond Heavy Garbage Collection: A Heavy Garbage Collection
Program
will be carried out in Richmond County on Monday, May 15, 2006. Material MUST be at the
curbside by 8:00 a.m. to ensure pickup.

L' Ardoise & Grand River Cancer Unit 53 Ecumenical Service "Celebration of Hope" will be held on
Thursday, May 18th at Holy Guardian Angels Church. All are welcome. Light lunch to follow.

There will be a Challenge Follow-Up held on Wednesday, May 17th, 7:30 p.m. at St Louis Parish Hall in
Louisdale. The follow-up will be hosted by the Cape Breton Challenge Movement from Sydney. We want to
encourage as many Challengers and Cursillista's as possible to attend. So tell everyone about it and bring a
friend. We will have pizza & beverages for lunch. Everyone welcome!

Ultreya: Our regular monthly Ultreya will be held in Sydney River at Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Richmond
County Cursillo Movement is hosting. The Ultreya will take place on May 25th at 7:30 p.m. We would like to
see as many Challengers and Cursillista's as possible representing our area. Spread the word. Everyone
welcome.

St Peters Strategic Plan Information & Community Input Session: The St Peters & Area Planning
Committee and the Strait-Highlands Regional Development Agency will be hosting an Information &
Community Input Session on a draft St Peter's Strategic Plan that will be held on Wednesday, May 10th at the St
Peters Fire Hall from 7 - 8:30 p.m. To review the draft St Peter's Strategic Plan, copies are available Monday,
May 1 at Parker's Restaurant, St Peters Village Commission, Maclssac Kilts, Edwina's Hair Design, & Kin
