Parish Census: The parish census will begin on Monday, October 16th and end on Thursday, November 30th.

Parish Pastoral Council: Tuesday, November 28th at 7:30 p.m. in the glebe (no meeting in December).

L' Ardoise C@P Site: The C@P Site has been closed for the time being and the high speed internet has been
placed on standby. This action was necessary due to lack of funding. We, along with the RCAS (Richmond
County Access Society), are exploring other avenues of funding in the hope that we will be able to re-open the
C@P site as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Rene Samson, L.E.A.D.

Confirmation Classes will take place on November 26th @ 6:30 p.m. in the Community Center.

Social Action Upcoming Events:
Saturday December 2nd - Annual Food Drive.

Social Action: Our Social Action Day on November 12 was a success. Thanks to everyone who donated food,
baked goods and prizes for bingo and to all those who came to dinner. Thanks to Yves & Alice Roberge for
helping with Bingo and to Steve for his help in soliciting donations. We very much appreciate your generous

Christmas Turkey Bingo sponsored by the L' Ardoise Men's Club will be held on Sunday, December 3, at 2
p.m. at the Community Center. Proceeds in aid of scholarship fund.

RTO (Retired Teachers' Organization): Christmas Turkey Dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2006
at the Lions Den in Louisdale. Tickets: $15.00per person. Cut off date is November 27, 2006. Contact Sally

Diocesan Shepherds' Trust: Thank you for your contributions to the Diocesan Shepherd's Trust collection
which is being taken in all parishes this weekend. If you didn't make your contribution this weekend, you may
pick up an envelope at the church entrance and return it next weekend. Your generous contributions to this fund
will benefit all our retired priests and make sure they enjoy financial security when they have completed their
ministry to us.

L' Ardoise Playeroup: Newborn - 6 years at the L' Ardoise Community Center on Monday, November 27th
from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Remember Someone Special at Christmas with an "Angel Wish". The Richmond Villa is holding their
Annual Christmas Fundraiser on Sunday, December l0th at 2 p.m. - Dedication Ceremony. If you would like to

Tree Lightig!&Visit from Santa at the Lakeside Community Center, Sampsonville on Saturday, December 2
at 6:30 p.m. We will kick off the Christmas season by lighting the community Christmas tree. Santa will be
there with treats for all the kids. Carols will be sung and refreshments served. Admission is free.

Tutors Wanted: The Richmond County Literacy Network is now updating its list of volunteer tutors who are
available and willing to assist adults to become better readers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer
tutor, please contact the Richmond County Literacy Network at 226-0383. A one day training session may be
offered for those interested in attending.

Community Health Board: Your local Community Health Board is seeking new members! Community
Health Boards are voluntary, community based boards regulated by the Nova Scotia Health Authorities Act.
Community Health Boards develop annual community health plans for submission to the District Health
Authority. Community Health Boards work to promote health and improve health care services in your area.
They also provide communities in your area with Wellness Funds totaling over $10,000. For more information
on volunteering on the Strait Richmond Health Board, please contact Treka Burke at 587-2991 or Almon

Christmas Toy Bingo- Lakeside Community Center, Sampson on Sunday December 3 at 2 p.m. 15 regular
games, mini games, 2 special games & 1/2 & 1/2 game. Also draw will be made for the tree and decorations.
