Card Games: 45's card play at the Community Center Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with the usual 1st, 2nd,
3rd prizes. The Jackpot kicks off at $500.00 with a rising Cookie Jar.

The Cancer Unit 53 L' Ardoise and Grand River Meeting at the Legion on September 27th at 6:30 p.m. Our
District Co-ordinator Noreen Rowe will be present. Everybody is welcomed. We are also looking for someone

Prayer Chain: We have a prayer chain going for Debbie Parsons (daughter of Phoebe and Donnie Boudreau,
formerly of Gracieville) and for all those suffering with cancer, especially those in our own community. The
prayer chain would go from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day for the month of September. Anyone who would like to
participate, please sign up to prayer for a half hour each day. The list is on the table at the back of the church.

Heavy Garbage: The Heavy Garbage Collection Program will be carried out in Richmond County during the
week of September 26-30, 2005. Material must be on the roadside by 8:00 a.m. Monday, September 26th to
ensure pickup; any material placed after this time will not be collected. The general rules for the program are as
follows: no regular household garbage or blue bag material is to be mixed in with heavy garbage; separate
metals from other material in two separate piles; no car parts, parts of old buildings, trees or large branches or
construction and demolition debris will be collected, and items placed for heavy collection shall not exceed 75
kg in weight for anyone item or 150 kg for all items for anyone dwelling unit and no individual item shall
measure more than 1.5 meters in dimension.

A Well Women's Pap and Health Clinic will be held on Saturday, October 1st from 9 - 4 at the Dr. Kingston
Memorial Clinic. Student nurse Cheryl Stone will be at the Clinic doing Blood Pressure, Weight and Sugar
screenings as well as the Nurses from Strait Richmond Hospital will be doing the Paps. For an appointment or

It's not too earlyTo begin planning your entry for the 10th Annual Festival of Trees in St Peters which will
be held in St Peters District Lions Hall on November 19 & 20, 2005. Let's make this milestone year a special
one! Entry fee is an item for the Food Bank.

Within! The Call of God!: Bishop Raymond Lahey and a Guest Panel consisting of a single person, a married
couple, a religious woman and a priest will reflect on vocation in the church today. Monday, October 17that

Marriage Encounter: The next marriage encounter weekend will take place in Pictou, Oct. 21-23, 2005.
Marriage encounter can be the most successful and dynamic marriage enrichment experience in the world today.
Couples with a good marriage deserve a marriage encounter weekend. For an application or more information

World Youth Days 2008: The next World Youth Days, in 2008 will take place in Australia. There will be a
meeting on Sunday, October 2ndat 2 p.m. in the church for all Catholic youth and young adults (ages 15to 32)
of the parish who are interested in going. We will need adult chaperons as well (1 adult for every 4 youth).

L' Ardoise Acadian Festival Financial Reports are available at the church entrances. The total receipt
(including HST refund) was $59,271.31 minus the total expenses of $27,522.38 for a net profit of $31,748.93.

The late Sarah Jane Berrette , formerly of Lower L' Ardoise --Wake will be held on October 7, 2005 2 - 4
and 7 - 9 p.m. and the funeral mass will be on October 8 at 11 a.m. Holy Guardian Angels Parish.

Place/Time: Bethany Assembly Hall / 10:30 a.m. Presenter: Donna Brady, csm. Our time is spent with the
Old and New Testament readings of the coming Sunday, helping us to make connections between these writings
and our lives. Sister Donna is on staff at Bethany Center.

Atlantic Canada's Storvtelling Festival 2005: Richmond County invites you to enjoy our first annual Atlantic
Canada's Storytelling Festival taking place on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1. On Friday, the
festival kicks off at La Picasse in Petit de Grat, Isle Madame with stories celebrating our rich Acadian culture
and included dinner, the storytelling music of Jeanne Doucet Currie as well as the stories by Fr. Dan Doucet and
Clara Dugas. This event starts at 6:00p.m. For more information and to make reservations call (902)226-
0149. The festival continues to St Peters on Saturday at the Lion's Hall for an all day and evening festival
beginning at 11:00 a.m. The festivities will include stories from the Halifax Storyteller Circle, Ghastly Ghost
