L'Ardoise Community Center. Students (grades 1-6) from Immaculate Conception Parish
are welcome to attend religious education classes in L'Ardoise or St Peters. The contact

September 26th, Fr. Barrett had to cancel the religious education class for grades 7 & 8.

Cecile, Co-ordinatorConfirmation Classes are being held in the Kateri Chapel, Chapel Island for high school
students associated with Immaculate Conception Parish, Barra Head. This includes the
communities of Barra Head, Chapel Island, and Soldier's Cove. Place: Kateri Chapel,
Chapel Island. Time: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Dates: September 30; October 14 & 21;
November 18 & 25; December 2 & 9. A new schedule will be made available, at the
December 9th class, for 2008; however, confirmation will be held on Wednesday, April

this will not be collected.Thanksgiving Weekend: October 8th is Thanksgiving. Parishioners of Holy Guardian
Angels Parish are reminded to bring in non-perishable food items for the Food Bank.Holy Guardian Angels & Immaculate Conception Parish Pastoral Council. On July
2nd, 2007 Fr. Barrett was appointed pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in addition to
Holy Guardian Angels Parish, hi preparation for this clustering, representatives from the
two parishes met on June 9th, 2007 in L'Ardoise. During this meeting, it was revealed that Immaculate Conception Parish Pastoral Council members sat on the St Peters Parish
Pastoral Council. With five members of Holy Guardian Angels Parish Pastoral Council
leaving; five Parish Pastoral Council members available from Immaculate Conception,
and given the difficulty of finding volunteers for Parish Pastoral Council, it was decided
that the tradition of Immaculate Conception Parish Pastoral Council members sitting on
St Peters Parish Pastoral Council would continue. Only this time, the focus would be on
Holy Guardian Angels Parish Pastoral Council. It was decided that the name of Council
would change to "Holy Guardian Angels Parish and Immaculate Conception Parish
Pastoral Council."
The new Council met for the first time on September 25th, 2007 in L'Ardoise. It was
agreed that if the Chair came from Holy Guardian Angels, the Vice-Chair would come
from Immaculate Conception and vice-versa. The Chair is Alex Mombourquette;
the Vice-Chair is Sheila Mombourquette , and the Secretary is Mary A.
Mombourquette. Each member now has a working copy of the Constitution
and they will bring in their notes to the next Parish Pastoral Council meeting, on October
23rd, in preparation for a final draft. A members' list will be made available in the near
future, as soon as some additional information is collected.Notice: Our Funeral Home was built to accommodate 2 people. First caller gets the
main room, while the second caller will get the small room. However, when there is a
cremation, the ashes will go in the small room, the second body will go in the main room.
