Acadian Festival Meeting on Sunday, September 10th at 3:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Everyone

Junior High/Confirmation/Young Adult Religious Education Registration will take place on Sunday,
September 10th at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Center (bottom floor). This year, Fr. Barrett will offer a
religious education class to any interested grade seven and eight students. There will be registration (for those
who have not already done so) and a class for confirmation candidates (grades 9 to 12). Finally, there will be
registration for those already confirmed (high school and early 20's) who would like to meet on a somewhat
informal social basis to explore religious/spiritual issues/questions that are important to them.

Elementary School Religious Education Classes & Registration will take place and begin on Sunday, September
17th at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center.

Healing Ministry: Fr. Albert MacPherson, an Augustinian priest from Lawerence, Mass. USA will be having
an "Healing Ministry" at Immaculate Conception Church, West Arichat on Tuesday, September 5th at 7 p.m.
Healing Mass followed by Prayers of Blessing for the sick.

Prints: 8x10 prints of the painting "Forget Me Not", that was commissioned by Richmond Villa for the
entrance to Memory Lane wing are available for sale to the public by contacting Alex Pate, Le Magasin Fleur de
Lis Convenience Store, Rockdale, 587-2357. A portion of the proceeds of each print sold will be donated to the
Richmond Villa.

L'Ardoise Medical Clinic: There will be a Well Women's Clinic held at the Dr. W. B. Kingston Memorial
Medical Clinic in L'Ardoise on September 30th, 2006 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To make an appointment or for

Living with Mental Health, Families that Care will be meeting on September 20th, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. in the

Employment Opportunity: The Richmond County Literacy Network is seeking an Adult Learning Instructor(s)
for programs in Arichat, St Peters and Chapel Island. This is a term position for 30 weeks with a minimum
of 13.75 hrs./week to a maximum of 42 hours/week, including instruction and preparation time. The starting
date is September 25, 2006. This employment opportunity may be of interest to retired teachers wishing to

Bursaries for Adult Learners: The Richmond County Literacy Network and the W. Blair MacMillan Trust
are offering bursaries to adult learners from Richmond County who are entering or returning to community

Eastern Counties Regional Library will be visiting L'Ardoise (Community Center) on Tuesday, September
5th from 4:00-5:30 p.m.; 6-7 p.m. and also St Peters (East Richmond Education Center) on Tuesday,
September 19th from 3:30-5:30p.m.; 6:00- 7:30p.m.

Story Telling Festival des contes: Storytelling Festival des contes occurs September 29th - October 1st.
Gaelic, Acadian, and Mi'maw cultures are the focus of this year's festival. Four spectacular locations located
within Richmond County, Cape Breton will host the three day event. "An Acadian Evening" kick starts the
festival on September 29 at La Picasse in Petit de Grat. September 30th Storytelling, workshops, music,
pupperty, dance and artwork at Le Noir Forge in Arichat. October 1st in St Peter ait the Bonnie Brae Senior's
Club will be the host venue for "Days Gone By." For more information on the festival please contact Richard

The World Youth Day Group is graciously accepting any donations of new merchandise to be used at an
upcoming Merchandise Bingo (late September). You can donate by calling Andree (587-2201 or 587-2414) or
dropping items off at the new Credit Union building. Thank you!

Volunteers Needed: We need more volunteers to lead the Children's Program during the Liturgy of the Word at
Sunday Mass. No experience necessary! The lessons are already prepared and they usually include an activity.
If we have enough volunteers, you may only be required to serve once in three months. If there are any youth or
adults who would like to lead a session once in a while, please tell Maureen. A big thank you to those who are
already volunteering. Also, looking for a long table with a smooth surface.
